About
Painter & illustrator based in Seattle, WA.
I received my first easel at four years old — my father built it from scratch. That gift, and the encouragement that came with it, set the direction early. I went on to minor in fine art for my Bachelor of Arts, then moved to Seattle to study graphic design, earning an Associate's degree in 1996. I've kept taking classes ever since, whenever the chance comes up.
What I'm chasing, work after work, is the space between realism and abstraction — enough form to recognize, enough left open for the viewer's eye to wander and interpret freely. That's the sweet spot I keep returning to, whatever the subject in front of me.
