I work mostly in acrylic and ink, moving between Yupo paper, canvas, and panel depending on what a piece needs. Yupo's slick, non-absorbent surface won't let paint set the way canvas does — ink pools, drifts, and lifts back off, which keeps me responding to the material instead of just executing a plan. Canvas and panel give me more control when a piece calls for it.

The work moves across three bodies: abstracts, portraits — of people and pets — and the long-running Mask Project. What ties them together is the same question approached from different angles: how much can be suggested rather than stated, and how much room that leaves for someone else's interpretation.
